Daimler Restoration

In 2001 we discovered that this car needed quite a lot of work doing to it if it was to stay in the fleet, and in December of that year the restoration started.

For the vintage car lovers among you, it needed vast amounts of welding doing underneath and behind each inner wing, it needed 2 new wings as the old ones were starting to be visibly rusty on the seams. While the wings were off and the engine was accessible, lots of worn out rubber hose was renewed  and every possible bush was replaced with a new one. We fitted new brake pipes, cylinders and shoes all round, new shockers and a stainless steel exhaust from front to back.

The work took place between December 2001 and April 2002, and was undertaken by Ian and Barry, with parts being supplied mainly from a Daimler enthusiast in Leeds.
